Qualifications: MHFA England Trainer 2012. Advocate 2002.
Current and Previous Work Experience:
I am part of a special Lottery training project delivering MHFA in sign language to the deaf community in Wales.
My background is of over 17 years experience in the 3rd Sector in England, dedicated to improving access to services, information, support and advice as an advocate, and later as the CEO of a resource centre for Deaf adults & children. I know that Deaf people need access to mental health awareness, and wellbeing- and this led me to doing the course….. the rest as they say, is history! I became a MHFA England trainer in 2012 and I now work as a freelance trainer based in South East England, delivering training in MHFA, deaf and sign language awareness and diversity throughout England, and since this year, in Wales for the deaf community. My Father in Brecon is very pleased to see more of me!
I have volunteered for several charities including over 10 years supporting ‘Children of Deaf Parents UK’ and in The Gambia supporting a deaf charity out there with their work as well as fundraising for them for several years- even selling my wedding dress to raise funds for them!
I joined the NT in England in October 2016 and am loving being part of this amazing team of diversely experienced NT’s! My assistance dog Victor, a cockerpoo, is also loving all the trainees who fuss over him!
